As some of you may know I'm part of the Sebago Nexus Project, where Ronnie Fieg hand selected 5 bloggers who influenced him the most and brought them out to the Sebago headquarters out in Dominican Republic for 5 days to create a collaborative shoe. It was truly a honor working with a group of amazing and talented individuals to create our very own shoe, I can't wait until each and every pair releases, they will be dropping throughout the Summer into the Fall of 2010, so stay tuned for more info. Until then, enjoy the pics...

Joshua Kissi (@StreetEtiquette) manually wrapping and packing docksides into shoe box.

Greg Weinstein (@CultureShoq) using a leather cutting machine to cut out various parts of a shoe silhouette.

Marcus Troy (@MarcusTroy) punching eyelets through the side of a dockside silhouette.

Jake Davis (@JakeDavisFilms) making holes in the leather for sewing capabilities (see Ronnie's flick).

I (@WilliamYan) was sewing the rubber soles onto bottoms of the docksides. d:)

About The Sebago Nexus Project:
Ten shoe designs. Five bloggers. One never before seen, done, or even attempted collection. The Nexus Project breaks all the rules and redefines what collaboration means. Wanting to create a collection that not only steps it up but also stands out, Sebago® called on one of the most innovative thinkers in the footwear industry around. Ronnie Fieg. A footwear designer and Sebago enthusiast, Fieg in turn reached out to the fashion-forward blogosphere and recruited some of today’s hottest lifestyle bloggers. Greg Weinstein. William Yan. Joshua Kissi & Travis Gumbs. Marcus Troy. Jake Davis. Each serving up a different energy and perspective that’s given the Nexus Project more bang than the Internet has blogs. Led by Fieg, each blogger designed two shoes that represented their own style ethos. The only mandates? Use the best materials available and honor Sebago’s long-loved heritage of authentic craftsmanship. Given the shoemaker’s 60+ year legacy and tenacious dedication to handcrafted perfection, nothing less was acceptable. Thankfully, after visiting the Sebago factory for a hands-on crash course by master cobblers, it wasn’t hard to live up to the Sebago standard. The results? A collection that not only celebrates Sebago’s New England roots, but also underscores our commitment to bring innovative, nautically-inspired footwear to those who love style and value uncommon quality. All of which helps further the reputation of our time-honored traditions.
