The Rocket Thrower in Flushing-Meadows Corona Park is a 43-foot bronze sculpture designed by Donald De Lue for the New York World's Fair in 1964-65. The sculpture depicts an athletic man throwing a spear into the sky has been damage through out the years and can use some votes from you all to win the $3 million in grants provided by Partners in Preservation for giving it a new patina, re-gilding the stars and applying a protective wax all around the sculpture.
