The reason that you are reading about me is...
because a few years ago, me and Ben sent so many emails back and forth about things we liked in art, technology, fashion, music, and everything else that I finally said 'You and I need to start documenting all these conversations better. Maybe even publicly, I think people would like our tastes and what we have to say.' Ben said 'Let's call it The Brilliance.' I said 'Yeah totally.' A while later we brought Virgil on as another contributer to the site and the rest is history. We do it for fun, to promote things we love, make new connections with readers of the site, and to basically create an archive of what we've admired in the world over time. When we started the site, I really used my platform as an artist and NoPattern to get the word out and we let word of mouth and the internet take it from there.
Right now I'm working on...
a handful of smaller projects for different brands and taking a bit of a rest from big huge projects so I can get my head together and work on some personal projects that have been floating in my head for quite some time.
I am inspired by...
my friends and family, well designed album packaging, good magazines and thick art books, jacket weather, Sudoku, Scrabble, Larry David, the internet, metal and jazz music, thinking about future tattoos, and sitting in bookstores for hours.
I can not live without...
my wife. My home and office would be a complete mess and I would never get anything done on time, ever. I can not live without my computer it seems, although I probably could, but I don't really want to. I also don't think I could live without working out. Having a job that requires you to sit in front of the computer all the time makes every ounce of energy build up and the only way I can get it out is with weights and a treadmill.
